Buddhism and Other Religions

Buddhism has never existed in a religious vacuum. From the time of the Buddha himself, Buddhists have always had to interact with those from other religious traditions. As Buddhism's influence declined in India, it came to dominate the countries it emigrated to, seemingly displacing native traditions in Tibet or South East Asia. And at other times, Buddhism has blended itself with other traditions, being informed by Chinese Daoism or Japanese Shinto.
